Taking private lessons with an experienced, professional musician is one of the BEST ways to improve as a jazz musician!  Unfortunately, not everyone lives near a good jazz teacher.

However, these days you don't need to move to the same town as your teacher. You don't even have to leave your living room!  Studying jazz can be MUCH less expensive now that you don't have to move across the country or even drive to your lessons!

Camden is an experienced private lessons instructor who has logged his 10,000 hours not only as a player but ALSO as a teacher!

As a musician, Camden has played well over 1,000 gigs in the past 15 years, working with many great musicians.  In addition to being the Founder of www.LearnJazzStandards.com, Camden has shared the stage with Bruce Forman, Carl Saunders, John Clayton, Curtis Stigers, Brent Vaartstra, Scott Whitfield, Stanton Kessler, Bill Watrous, Pete Christlieb, Justin Nielsen, Paul Tillotson, Brent Jensen, the Frim Fram Four, Sandon Mayhew, Phil Garonzik, Thomas Hutchings, Monte Muza (one of Pat Metheny's old guitar teachers), Gayle Chapman (formerly of Prince's band), Bill Courtial (formerly of Vince Guaraldi's band), Clark Sommers (of Kurt Elling's band), the Jazz Angels, and MANY more!  He's also a gifted transcriber, having transcribed multiple solos and even a couple of complete Big Band charts by ear!

"Solitaire," by Bill Russo.  Transcribed for Big Band from the original recording by Camden Hughes.  As performed by students at the Great Basin Jazz Camp in 2012.
